S4CR4L (pronounced “sacral”) is the pseudonym of Tyler Hancock, a songwriter and music producer from Southern California. His musical journey began when he was only 4 years old, when his grandmother gifted him a small organ and taught him how to play songs on it. He became especially drawn to the ethereal work of Irish musician Enya, whom he listened to obsessively from the age of 7. As he grew older, he discovered Italian electronic DJ and producer Gigi D'Agostino, whose upbeat and energetic music inspired him to explore different genres and styles.

He started writing his own songs at 16 years old, and learned to produce electronic music when he was 17. Tyler experimented with various sounds and influences, and worked with a record label for a short time releasing high-energy European dance music. He has since explored various genres and styles, with a focus on the dark and emotional sounds of Future Garage, Ambient, Phonk, and Wave music. In January 2023, S4CR4L emerged as a new independent project with the release of his debut single, “Waiting”. The song set the tone for his musical style and vision, and touched on the feeling of longing to be understood.

Pouring his soul into each song, S4CR4L aims to create sounds that transport the listener to another space and time, using his unique blend of genres and influences. S4CR4L writes and sings his own lyrics in much of his work, expressing his personal feelings and experiences. In May 2023, he released his first album, "It's S4CR4L", consisting of 10 tracks, including the debut single "Waiting". The album was a personal and expressive project, which showcased his musical talent and creativity. He has received positive feedback and reviews for his music, which is praised for its emotional depth and atmospheric quality.

Tyler has always struggled with social anxiety and introversion, which made him feel isolated and misunderstood by others. He found it hard to open up to people, to collaborate with other musicians, and to perform live. However, he has not let his social anxiety and introversion stop him from pursuing his passion. Instead, music has become an outlet and a form of therapy allowing him to develop his confidence and visibility as an artist.
